Fellow Comrades, Esteemed Leadership, and Loyal Foot Soldiers of the Great NDC in Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency,

I, Kala David, a proud son of Kaleo, dedicated grassroots member of the National Democratic Congress since 2003, professional teacher, and applied chemist currently serving as Chemistry Tutor at Wa Senior High School, stand before you today with unwavering resolve and profound humility to formally declare my candidature for the position of Deputy Constituency Secretary in the upcoming October 2026 internal reorganisation and leadership elections of our great party.

The Great NDC is not just a political party; it is a movement rooted in the ideals of social justice, probity, accountability, and the unrelenting pursuit of the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian. As a core grassroots member who has served this noble cause with dedication, I was privileged in the last cycle to contest as Deputy Constituency Treasurer. Though the contest was fierce and I emerged an also-ran in the spirit of internal democracy, that experience only deepened my commitment and sharpened my understanding of the machinery required to build a stronger, more cohesive, and victorious NDC at the constituency level. Today, I return with renewed energy, tested loyalty, and a clear vision to serve in the critical role of Deputy Secretary.

My decision to vie for this position is driven by an unshakeable belief that the Deputy Secretary must be a versatile, meticulous, and people-oriented organiser who possesses deep knowledge of party membership, structures, and mobilisation strategies. With my undisputed track record in membership coordination, documentation, and grassroots engagement, I am convinced that I am the sole excellent choice the constituency needs at this pivotal moment.

Gratitude to the Good People of Nadowli-Kaleo

First and foremost, I extend my deepest gratitude to the revered leaders, elders, branch executives, polling station agents, and the teeming foot soldiers of the NDC in Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency. Your steadfast support during my previous campaign, your wise counsel, and your unrelenting commitment to the ideals of our party have been a source of immense inspiration. I remain profoundly thankful for the opportunity you gave me to ran as Deputy Treasurer. Even in the heat of competition, your faith in my abilities and character reinforced my conviction that together, we can elevate our constituency's contribution to the national body politic of the NDC.

To the women and youth groups, the TEIN comrades I served with during my days at KNUST, the dedicated members of GNAT and GAST who double as NDC members, and all who have walked this journey with me — I say a big thank you. Your sacrifices, prayers, and solidarity have not gone unnoticed. I am eternally grateful.

Why I Offer Myself as Deputy Secretary

As a professional with an MPhil in Applied Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry) from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Navrongo, and a BSc Chemistry (Second Class Upper) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, I have honed skills in research, data management, analysis, documentation, and strategic planning. These competencies, combined with my long service in the Ghana Education Service — where I have consistently improved student performance, served as Form Master, House Master, Sports Master, Environment Master, and Secretary to the Science Department Welfare — have equipped me with the organisational discipline, attention to detail, and leadership required for the role of Deputy Secretary.

Furthermore, my impeccable record as secretary can be traced back to KAPSU WASEC Branch (2002), NJA Teacher Training College Science Club (2005), and Kaleo NDC Youth Group (2006 - 2010), and having served as president of NADSU National (2014) was a feather in my cap that culminated in my decision to run for this position.

In this position, I intend to:

  1. Work seamlessly with the Constituency Secretary to maintain accurate, up-to-date membership records and strengthen internal communication across all branches and polling stations.
  2. Enhance grassroots mobilisation and ensure every bona fide member feels valued and involved in party activities.
  3. Support robust documentation of party decisions, meetings, and programmes while fostering transparency and accountability.
  4. Leverage my experience as Assistant Examiner with WAEC, former President of Nadowli District Students’ Union (NADSU), and active participant in party structures (including a member of the Sammy Gyamfi-led TEIN at KNUST) to build capacity among youth and women activists.
  5. Contribute to effective campaign coordination and electoral victories by ensuring seamless administrative support and data-driven strategies.

My research experience, including my published work in Environmental Geochemistry and Health (Springer) on heavy metal contamination and ecological risks in Wa, demonstrates my ability to investigate issues thoroughly, analyse data rigorously, and propose practical solutions — qualities essential for a Deputy Secretary who must help diagnose organisational challenges and implement lasting remedies.

An Appeal to Your Revered Conscience

Comrades, at this critical juncture in the life of our great party — as we prepare to consolidate our structures ahead of future electoral triumphs — I appeal to your revered conscience, your sense of justice, and your commitment to excellence. The position of Deputy Secretary demands a candidate of proven integrity, versatility, dedication, and deep knowledge of party membership and operations.

I present myself not as one among many, but as the only excellent candidate ever offered to the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency for this grassroots role. My entire adult life has been defined by service — as a teacher uplifting the next generation, as a researcher advancing knowledge, as a party activist contributing to the NDC cause, and as a community leader engaged in various capacities, including constituency election activities.

I have no hidden agenda. My loyalty to the Great NDC and its leadership is total and unconditional. I seek this mandate solely to serve, to strengthen our structures from the grassroots, and to help deliver the victories our constituency and the nation deserve.

A Call to Action: Galvanise Your Unrelenting Support

Fellow comrades of Nadowli-Kaleo, I humbly and confidently solicit your unrelenting, indelible support for my candidature. Let us come together in unity of purpose to endorse a candidate whose track record, academic excellence, professional discipline, and grassroots experience make him the undisputed choice.

I pledge to serve with diligence, transparency, and the highest sense of duty. Together, we shall build a stronger NDC in Nadowli-Kaleo — one that is well-organised, vibrant, and ready to champion the development of our people.

Forward Ever! Backward Never!

The Battle is the Lord's, and Victory Shall Surely Be Ours!

For the Great NDC! For Nadowli-Kaleo!! For Ghana!!!
