The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly is set to commission major development projects and inspect several ongoing projects in the district as part of its continued commitment to improving the living conditions of residents and expanding access to essential social amenities.

The programme, scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, will feature the commissioning of a Kindergarten (KG) Block at Nadowli and a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Chaang. The event is expected to attract government officials, traditional authorities, opinion leaders, community members, and other stakeholders to celebrate the steady pace of development being witnessed within the district.

Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, the Upper West Regional Minister, and the Member of Parliament for the area, who are all expected to join the District Chief Executive for Nadowli-Kaleo, Mary Haruna, for the commissioning and inspection activities.

Their presence is expected to underscore the government’s commitment to accelerating development and improving access to critical infrastructure and social services in rural communities across the country.

In addition to the commissioning ceremony, officials will embark on an inspection tour of a number of projects currently underway in various communities. These include a three-unit classroom block in Chaang, the Vogoni CHPS Compound, the Papu CHPS Compound, a three-unit classroom block at Kpaala, and ten boreholes being constructed across ten communities within the district.

The projects form part of the district’s broader development agenda aimed at addressing critical challenges in education, healthcare delivery, and access to potable water, especially in underserved communities.

Residents in the beneficiary communities have welcomed the interventions with excitement and appreciation, describing them as timely and life-changing. The provision of educational infrastructure is expected to improve teaching and learning conditions for schoolchildren, while the health facilities will significantly enhance access to primary healthcare services for rural populations.

Access to clean drinking water through the borehole projects is also anticipated to reduce the burden on women and children who often travel long distances in search of water, while helping to improve sanitation and public health conditions.

The Trial News congratulates the District Chief Executive, Madam Mary Haruna, and the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly for the commendable efforts being made to bridge the development gap within the district. Their dedication to expanding social amenities and responding to the pressing needs of communities continues to bring relief and renewed hope to many residents.

Indeed, these interventions demonstrate the Assembly’s determination to ensure that development reaches every corner of the district. While some communities are currently benefiting from these projects, it is reassuring to note that many others are expected to receive their share of the national cake through future interventions in areas such as healthcare, education, roads, water supply, and other critical sectors.

The Assembly remains fully aware of the developmental deficits confronting many communities and continues to work tirelessly to mobilise resources and provide the necessary support where it is most needed.

As the district continues on this path of growth and transformation, residents are hopeful that the ongoing and future interventions will further improve livelihoods and accelerate socio-economic development across the Nadowli-Kaleo District.
