COLLECT OF OUR GUILT MAY SERVE TO OBTAIN YOUR PARDON FOR OUR SINS. THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, YOUR SON, WHO LIVES AND REIGNS WITH YOU IN THE UNITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, GOD, FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN”.


Is 49:8-15; Ps 144:8-9,13-14,17-18 and Jn 5:17-30.


As his days are getting numbered, Jesus speaks more clearly to his disciples and to the Jews in general, about his identity (Cf. John 5:17-30). He is the Son of God and he identifies himself with God. He does nothing but what he sees the Father doing. Just as the Father raises the dead, the Son gives life to whoever he wishes. The Father has given all judgment to the Son. The judgment will be based on our deeds and actions. Of course, believing and honouring the Father and the Son will be part of the judgment.


Therefore, those who believe and honour the Father through the Son, and because of their belief, they do good deeds, will attain resurrection of life. But those who do not believe and honour the Father through the Son, and for that matter, always only engage in wicked deeds are sure to attain “resurrection” of condemnation. Our belief, through our deeds and actions will speak on our behalf as the judgment goes on (Cf. Mt 25:31-46)..


God, indeed, is more than a loving parent (loving mother). This is coming from the portion of the Prophet Isaiah, which is one of our scriptures we meditate on today. As a Father (or mother) who loves tenderly, he will never forget his little children even when they sin and look for their own freedom and independence. Even in our sinful state, when we forsake and ignore God, he being a loving God still looks for us through his Son Jesus Christ to bring us back to reconcile with him and with our neighbour.


As we draw closer to the end of this special season of grace that God has given to us at Easter, let us ‘Come out!... Show ourselves!’ to the Lord. He is inviting us more especially these days as his loving people to leave behind all hindrances caused by our sinful deeds to a free, full and joyful life. God’s intention in creating us was to enjoy life to the fullest. Sin has distorted this divine intention as death has become its price which we were to pay for dearly in the tombs.


Fortunately, the Son of God, our Saviour Jesus Christ gave his dear life on the cross as ransom for us. All we now have to do is: ‘To always hear his voice, be attentive to and follow what his voice tells us to do and eventually come out to the resurrection of life’. Let us not allow this chance to slip by to still be in our “tombs” of sin and death. Stay blessed.

(WE PRAY FOR FAITH, HOPE, LOVE OF GOD, GRACE OF A HAPPY DEATH AND TRUST IN MARY’S INTERCESSION) “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen”.


PRAYER: “MAY YOUR HEAVENLY GIFTS, O LORD, WE PRAY, WHICH YOU BESTOW AS A HEAVENLY REMEDY ON YOUR PEOPLE, NOT BRING JUDGMENT TO THOSE WHO RECEIVE THEM. THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN”.
