PAC Chair cautions MDAs against deferring scheduled appearances

The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Hon. Mrs. Abena Osei-Asare, has appealed to institutions invited to appear before the Committee to desist from postponing their scheduled appearances.

According to the Atiwa East legislator, the Committee is expected to complete its hearings within two weeks from October 27 to November 7, 2025 before Parliament sets for the presentation of the National Budget.

Hon. Osei-Asare further urged the Auditor-General’s Department to furnish the Committee with updates on recoveries made from auditees, particularly identifying institutions that have rectified audit infractions and those that have not, to enable the Committee to take the next steps as required by law.

She made these remarks in her closing statement at the Committee’s sitting on Friday, October 31, 2025.

The Committee is expected to resume sittings on Monday, November 3, 2025, to consider the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report relating to the Ministry of Education, Bank of Ghana, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), among others.
