A high-powered delegation from Engineers and Planners, one of Ghana’s reputable mining companies, has paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Nadowli-Kaleo, Madam Mary Haruna, to congratulate her on her appointment and officially inform her of the company’s presence in the district.

The delegation, led by the Chief Executive Officer, included the Public Relations Officer, Human Resource Manager, and other senior officials of the company. The visit was aimed at strengthening relations with the district leadership and briefing the DCE on their upcoming mining operations in the area.

The CEO assured the DCE that Engineers and Planners would conduct their operations strictly in accordance with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations. He emphasised that the company’s activities would adhere to sustainable mining practices to safeguard the environment and promote community well-being.

The DCE, in her remarks, expressed appreciation for the visit and welcomed the company’s presence in the district. She appealed to the management of Engineers and Planners to prioritise the employment of the youth within the district.

“Our district is one of the most deprived in the region. I am particularly happy that your operations will open doors for our young people to secure jobs and improve their livelihoods,” the DCE said.

She further urged the company to engage extensively with the communities where they operate to prevent any misunderstanding or confrontation as these are common issues in most mining communities across the country.

In response, the company’s representatives assured her that Engineers and Planners had comprehensive plans to create employment for the youth and to partner with the district in various development initiatives.

“The people of Nadowli-Kaleo will be key beneficiaries of our operations. Beyond jobs, we intend to support the district in other areas of development as part of our corporate social responsibility,” the team stated.

The visit has generated excitement among residents of Nadowli-Kaleo, many of whom have long anticipated the commencement of mining activities in the area. Community members believe the presence of Engineers and Planners will bring economic growth, infrastructure development, and much-needed employment opportunities for the youth.
