COLLECT: “O GOD, WHO HAVE TAUGHT US TO CHASTEN OUR BODIES FOR THE HEALING OF OUR SOULS, ENABLE US, WE PRAY, TO ABSTAIN FROM ALL SINS, AND STRENGTHEN OUR HEARTS TO CARRY OUT YOUR LOVING COMMANDS. THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, YOUR SON, WHO LIVES AND REIGNS WITH YOU IN THE UNITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, GOD, FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN”.

Lent is always a time or moment to seek forgiveness, not only from God, but also from fellow human beings. During the Season of Lent, God always wants the return of the sinner for his merciful love and forgiveness.


When eventually the sinner resolves to come back to God for his mercy, love and forgiveness, the sinner needs to do the same for others who need mercy, love and forgiveness from him/her. In other words, in returning to the merciful Lord as a sinner, there is the need to return love, mercy and forgiveness to others you owe them because of grudges or trespasses. Only then will the returned sinner receive more mercy, love and forgiveness from the Lord.


May these sayings be our guiding principles this grace and spirit-filled Season of Lent: “Do unto others as you want them do to you”. “If you do not like a toad, do not fetch it into your neighbour’s bag or basket”. “What goes around, will certainly come round”. “Do not judge or condemn and you will not be judged or condemned”. “Be merciful, just as God our Father is merciful”. “Make hay while the sun shines”.


‘O Lord, justice is on your side. We are shamefaced even to this day. Have mercy on us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen’. Stay blessed and may your working week which you begin today be fruitful for you.


WE MEDITATE TODAY, MONDAY, ON THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES: ‘THE ANNUNCIATION, THE VISITATION, THE BIRTH OF JESUS, THE PRESENTATION IN THE TEMPLE AND THE FINDING OF THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE’. (LET US PRAY FOR HUMILITY, LOVE OF NEIGHBOUR, POVERTY IN SPIRIT, OBEDIENCE AND JOY IN FINDING JESUS) “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen”.


PRAYER: “MAY THIS COMMUNION, O LORD, CLEANSE OF WRONGDOING AND MAKE US HEIRS TO THE JOY OF HEAVEN. THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN”.
