Matchday 21 should have had Eze start with Madueke and not substitutes. His tactics were undoubtedly inferior to Liverpool's. Again, his unwavering belief in Gyorkeres is strange and difficult to understand when it comes to achieving his goals. The fans are as important as the team.
Perhaps a shift in strategy could have yielded better results, as relying on players who haven’t consistently performed may hinder the team's progress. Adjusting the lineup to include more dynamic players could provide the necessary spark to challenge stronger opponents effectively.
To be honest, the god or spirit of victory has long parted ways with Martin Ødegaard, yet he cannot see it that way and continues to feature him in most match starts. He should probably have been a substitute for the only obvious reason and not for the mere wearing of an armband. Arteta should get inclined with a bit of self-intuition that the voice of victory has never been fainter this season with us and needs to be told to his face.
I am positive that this realization might prompt him somehow to somewhat rethink his strategies and player selections moving forward. Embracing a fresh perspective could ultimately rejuvenate the team's morale and inspire a much-needed turnaround in performance, but certainly not by his current approaches.
Recent news and predicted lineups for Arsenal's fixtures indicate that Martín Zubimendi, Martin Ødegaard, and Declan Rice are expected to form the starting midfield trio under manager Mikel Arteta. Supposedly, this selection reflects a tactical emphasis on control, physicality, and creativity. However, can any objective mind assert convincingly that this midfield and the juggling of the attacking third are giving us the expected dividend so far as the title chase is concerned? Not that I am aware of.
As the season progresses, it becomes increasingly important for the team to find a rhythm that maximizes the talents of these players. The pressure will be on Arteta to ensure that the midfield not only supports the defense but also facilitates dynamic forward play to keep the title aspirations alive. But what shambolic performance is being offered us on match day?
Admittedly, in this 2025/26 season, it is never an assumption to have Arsenal FC pegged with teams like Man United or Chelsea FC in terms of squad depth, and their fans all over have succumbed to the very obvious as asserted. How can Arteta stoop so low to their level at such crucial times when we are ever increasingly hungry for every match win? I cannot imagine how I will carry my good self about in public should we go trophyless this season after all the bragging.
Who is Liverpool FC at home in the Emirates Stadium that we have to struggle to nail squarely in front of our own core fans and enthusiastic supporters that have always been forthcoming and spontaneous from day one at the beginning of the season? Unbelievable!
Mikel Arteta needs to put his act together properly and quickly to avoid the unthinkable. The honorable thing is within his purview to ensure we continue to boastfully raise our heads up in public with this unmatchable in-depth square this season. I am yet to ever see a coach at his standing and after the festive fixtures of the EPL displaying such poor management and still be leading the log. Strange to me, if only I am permitted to say so. He cannot start today, or he won't be the first in this case, not at all!
