COLLECT: “ALMIGHTY EVER-LIVING GOD, WHOSE WILL IS TO RESTORE ALL THINGS IN YOUR BELOVED SON, THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE, GRANT, WE PRAY, THAT THE WHOLE CREATION, SET FREE FROM SLAVERY, MAY RENDER YOUR MAJESTY SERVICE AND CEASELESSLY PROCLAIM YOUR PRAISE. Dan 7:2-14; Ps Dan 3:75-81 and Lk 21:29-33.


We continue reflecting on nothing being permanent in this world and in this life. All must come to an end at the appropriate time. Today’s first reading from Daniel refers to four kingdoms that came and went in the history of Israel. This reading makes it clear that ultimately God is in charge, and he will always act at his own time, in the appropriate time. Sometimes, God may seem like he is delaying, but he will always surely act. Jesus states in the Gospel that signs of the last days will be obvious as buds heralding spring. We always need to prepare for our own last days.


Jesus hints that we are clever and wise enough in our time, and we easily read the signs and predictions of our time and conclude what will happen in the future. We should have been as well, wise and clever enough to always quickly see, acknowledge and appreciate divine predictions and signs, to prepare ourselves and put our lives on our “D-days” in life.


The word of God will never pass away; heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s word will always be there, and divine signs and predictions shall always come to pass. The question is, if I drop dead now, what will my judgment be like? What will I read on the pages dedicated to me in the Book of Life? Stay blessed and may your weekend be fruitful.


WE MEDITATE TODAY, FRIDAY, ON THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES: ‘THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN, THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR, THE CROWNING WITH THORNS, THE CARRYING OF THE CROSS AND THE CRUCIFIXION’ (WE PRAY FOR SORROW FOR SIN, PURITY, COURAGE, PATIENCE, AND PERSEVERANCE) “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and the hour of our death, Amen”.


PRAYER: “HAVING RECEIVED THE FOOD OF IMMORTALITY, WE ASK, O LORD, THAT, GLORYING IN OBEDIENCE TO THE COMMANDS OF CHRIST, THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE, WE MAY LIVE WITH HIM ETERNALLY IN HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM. WHO LIVES AND REIGNS FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN”.
